PrEP – pre-exposure prophylaxis
Protection against HIV infection
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can reduce the risk of HIV infection by up to 99% if taken correctly. It is suitable for people with an increased risk of infection and complements other protective measures such as condoms.
As the only practice in Lübeck with expertise in infectiology and family medicine, we provide comprehensive advice on PrEP, explain its use and side effects and carry out all the necessary examinations. The costs are covered by statutory health insurance.

Screening for sexually transmitted infections (STI)
Early detection and treatment for your health
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea and hepatitis often go unnoticed and can have long-term health consequences. Regular testing and early treatment are therefore crucial to protect your health.
Our practice offers modern laboratory diagnostics for rapid and precise detection. If the results are positive, you will receive a detailed consultation and prompt treatment.

Hepatitis C – early detection, effective treatment
Hepatitis C is a viral infection that mainly attacks the liver and often goes unnoticed for a long time. It is usually transmitted via blood contact – for example through shared syringes, non-sterile tattoos or previous blood transfusions; in rare cases, infection is also possible through unprotected sexual intercourse. If left untreated, it can lead to liver cirrhosis or liver cancer.
The good news is that hepatitis C can now be cured in most cases – with well-tolerated tablets, usually within 8 to 12 weeks. The costs of treatment are fully covered by statutory health insurance.
A one-off hepatitis C test is part of the Check-up 35 examination for people aged 35 and over with statutory health insurance. If you are unsure whether you might have an infection, please contact us. A simple blood test will quickly provide clarity. In our practice, we offer complete diagnostics as well as individual, specialist infectiological support throughout the entire treatment.

Travel medicine
Well protected on vacation
Are you planning a trip? As an infectiologist and family doctor in Lübeck, we can provide you with comprehensive advice on travel vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis and other protective measures.
Ideally, the vaccination consultation should take place around six weeks before departure – however, if you are traveling at short notice, we will still ensure you have the best possible protection. Our practice is certified by the German Society of Tropical Medicine (DTG) and is an approved yellow fever vaccination center.
