The Check-up 35 is covered by health insurance every three years from the age of 35 and helps to detect illnesses at an early stage. The examination includes a physical analysis, blood and urine tests and a discussion about individual risks and preventive measures.

If there are any abnormalities, we will initiate further diagnostics or refer you specifically to specialists. Don’t wait for complaints – take advantage of the health check-up.

Even if you have received all your vaccinations as a child, you will still need a few boosters over time. Come in with your vaccination card and we will check your vaccination status. We follow the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) and regularly undergo further training.

The ECG (electrocardiography) allows numerous conclusions to be drawn about the patient’s heart function. In addition to the resting ECG, we also carry out long-term blood pressure measurements (24 hours).

We carry out blood, urine and stool tests in the laboratory. These are used for the correct interpretation of complaints, the early detection of diseases and the monitoring of treatment progress.

With the help of sonography (ultrasound), we can examine disorders or diseases of the thyroid gland and the organs in the abdomen, for example.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can reduce the risk of HIV infection by up to 99% if taken correctly. It is suitable for people with an increased risk of infection and complements other protective measures such as condoms.

Hepatitis C – early detection, effective treatment

Hepatitis C is a viral infection that mainly attacks the liver and often goes unnoticed for a long time. It is usually transmitted via blood contact – for example through shared syringes, non-sterile tattoos or previous blood transfusions; in rare cases, infection is also possible through unprotected sexual intercourse. If left untreated, it can lead to liver cirrhosis or liver cancer.

The good news is that hepatitis C can now be cured in most cases – with well-tolerated tablets, usually within 8 to 12 weeks. The costs of treatment are fully covered by statutory health insurance.

A one-off hepatitis C test is part of the Check-up 35 examination for people aged 35 and over with statutory health insurance. Travel medicine

Are you planning a trip? As an infectiologist and family doctor in Lübeck, we can provide you with comprehensive advice on travel vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis and other protective measures.

Ideally, the vaccination consultation should take place around six weeks before departure – however, if you are traveling at short notice, we will still ensure you have the best possible protection. Our practice is certified by the German Society of Tropical Medicine (DTG) and is an approved yellow fever vaccination center.
